An announcement was made by Xiamoi about the launch of its latest Mi-series smartphone in the coming week. A tweet was made by the company on Monday that its Mi 9T which was recently teased will be making its introduction on the 12th of June. Yet Xiaomi has not disclosed the exact location where it will be hosting an event whether be it be China or anywhere else to reveal the phone. It’s not even sure whether it will be just an online launch.
Earlier it was believed that Mi 9T was a rebranded variant of the Redmi k20 for the global markets, but more and more now seems that it isn’t going to be the case. Xiaomi wrote in a tweet: “There are only ten days left! The brand new #Mi 9 will be getting launched on the 12th of June! Are you all ready for the better-innovated product for everyone from #Mi9T?”
Not too much is known about the new series at this moment. But the teasers of Xiaomi have unveiled that the smartphone will be having a pop-up selfie camera. In addition to this, the company also revealed the back of the phone which showed that there is 3 rear camera along with a Light Emitting Diode Flash. There does not seem to be any fingerprint sensor at the back of the phone, so we are anticipating to see an in-display fingerprint sensor on the new smartphone.
Xiomi has also asked its followers to make a wild guess about what exactly does the T stands for in the Mi9T & its quite possible that it will be standing for Turbo here. So, there is a possibility that Xiaomi has planned to launch a slightly twisted version of Mi 9 as the Mi 9T, which will be ditching the water-drop style notch and add some extra other new features.
